Samuel kOria
Community Healthcare Leadership
For over a decade, Samuel has worked directly with vulnerable populations across Central Kenya, managing healthcare operations and seeing firsthand how families navigate serious illness.
Technology for Healthcare Access
As a consultant with BigHost Africa, Samuel spent four years developing technology infrastructure that improved healthcare access in Thika and surrounding areas.
Samuel never intended to write about cancer. His background in technology and healthcare operations prepared him for many challenges, but not for cancer entering his own family.
The experience of navigating diagnosis, treatment, and recovery within Kenya's healthcare system while maintaining work responsibilities, family relationships, and community connections showed gaps between medical care and family needs.
"I realised that families need more than medical information," Samuel reflects. "We need cultural wisdom, practical strategies, and genuine hope from people who understand our daily realities."
Pink Leaf emerged from this recognition not as expert advice, but as shared wisdom from one family to others walking similar paths.
